First year graduate course, CSEM program
Description
This is the first of a two-semester graduate course sequence designed to provide an introduction to the tools of mathematical modeling of physical systems. The course begins with an introduction to general techniques for formulating physically consistent models. Application of these techniques will then be explored through introductions to the classical mathematical theories underlying many of the models of physical phenomena important in modern applications. Covered are continuum mechanics, electromagnetism and quantum mechanics.
Course material posted to Canvas. Additional notes can be found here.
